Days Working Without a Contract

Although all Firefighters want an efficiently run Fire Service, let us not lose sight of the fact that such efficiency must not come at the expense of the Firefighter’s safety, livelihood or dignity.

The Vaughan Professional Fire Fighters Association is currently trying to secure a new contract for our members. Our previous contract expired on December 31, 2006. Since that time our members have been working without an increase in wages or benifits. Negotiations have started and broken down several times. We await an arbitration hearing in May 2008 to settle our contract.
